As with the Lenexa City Hall project next door, the citizens of Lenexa wanted their recreation center to be something to be proud of : “A NEW COMMUNITY RESOURCE” for the City and surrounding area.
Hiring PGAV, to execute the design work, and JE Dunn, to be the General Contractor, were the first steps to get the project off on the right foot. By bringing in SSM, to execute the metal cladding components, continued moving the projects on the right path.
From the beginning of our involvement, we worked to help reduce costs while increasing the performance and reducing the construction schedule.
For this project we fabricated and installed an array of products and components. SSM‘s flat seamed panels clad the majority of the vertical surfaces on the Recreation Center. These components were installed over galvanized girts and rigid insulation.
Utilizing zinc cladding for the flat seemed panels results in having a smooth surface that is water tight, long lasting, maintenance free and aesthetically pleasing to the eye.
In other areas, SSM provided and installed a formed metal panels on the walls and soffits and sunshades to complete the look.
