Standard fabricated and installed all of the components within a 45 day time frame – in time for the Chief’s season opener.
– Spencer Branham, formerly with Populous
Populous Architecture, worked with Hy-Vee to create and brand the experience at the Hy-Vee gate to Arrowhead Stadium. Then, Populous worked with Dimensional Innovations, to help realize the vision that Hy-Vee is the destination for your pre and post event needs. DI turned to SSM to build the vision from the ground up.
SSM fabricated the oval frames from 1/8” thick plate steel, rolled to the radius specified, then welded into their final box forms. Mounting brackets and openings for power and fiberoptic cables were addd as were the other components – light rings, oval frames and TV monitors. All of the components were connected to the central mast column. Wrapping around the interior of the concrete ramp, graphic images were applied to SSM’s aluminum plate panels, creating a continuous ribbon of color.
The fire box, surround and various elements that make up the performance stage, designed to hydraulically elevated during performances, were also fabricated and installed by SSM.
