Description
The Lenexa Old Town Activity Center, located in the heart of Lenexa, Kansas, has long served as a community gathering place. Hosting various local events, educational programs and recreational activities, it served the area well for a number of years.
However, in order to meet the growing demand for space and enhance its ability to serve the community, the center underwent a major renovation and expansion.
Added 23,000 square feet, this renovation and expansion effort included a new east wing and a renovated west side with 1,300 square feet for a new entry and other amenities.
The existing facade was replaced, panel by panel, keeping the facility operational while the new wing was constructed. SSM utilized foam wall panels, in three different profiles and colors to complete the visually, distinctive building — allowing it to continue to serve the community for years to come.
