Description
Architecturally speaking, this vibrant design of the Blue Spring Community Center is effective at communicating the fun to be found on the inside.
First, brightly painted, perforated aluminum plate panels face the parking area, conceals an outdoor concession space. With four different diameter randomly place holes – ranging from 3/8” to 1” diameter – the screen wall provides a hint as to what is happening beyond without revealing everything. SSM perforated 19 face fastened panels, of various widths, to Doing Steel for attachment to their support posts.
An overhead canopy features perforated zone within the panel. This allows the sun to cast playful shadows on the ground, leading you to the front door. The canopy feature, fabricated and installed by SSM, continues on through into the lobby space.
An upper observation deck has a canopy structure of its own to define that space.
Altogether, SSM fabricated and installed over 300 sunshade and soffit panels that will provide welcome relief during the hot summer afternoons!
