FLEX CARTS

The Nelson - Atkins Museum of Art

Description

Working with the Nelson – Atkins Museum of Art team is always a pleasure.  By the time they bring a project our way, it has been tweaked and refined by their team so many times that every question we ask, they have already asked and answered in house.  They come prepared to discuss and ready to begin.

These carts were no exception.  Dozens of parts, all worked out, all defined and all ready for production.

The only thing left for us to do was make a couple and deliver them to the museum.

Taking their computer model, we unfolded the parts to make flat shapes for cutting, creating the parts to later be folded back into shape.  Fabricated from stainless and carbon steel sheet goods and tube shapes, each component was laid out to the museum’s exacting specifications, assembled and secured in position.  Resulting in a finished cart that is an example of thoughtful design, craftsmanship and attention to detail.
